Toughened Glass
Strong safety glass cut, shaped and finished to your exact specification before the toughening process.

Product overview
Made around your specification
Toughened glass is designed for places where strength, heat resistance and safer breakage are important. It is commonly used in doors, low-level glazing, shower screens, shelves, table tops, partitions and balustrades. DC Glass prepares each panel to the confirmed size before it is toughened, because the glass cannot be cut or drilled afterwards.
The controlled heating and rapid cooling process makes toughened glass substantially stronger than ordinary annealed glass. If it breaks, it is designed to form small granular pieces rather than long, sharp shards. The correct thickness and preparation still depend on the panel size, fixings and position, so we review the intended use before manufacture.

Helpful information
Toughened Glass FAQs
Can toughened glass be cut after processing?
No. All cutting, drilling, holes, notches and edge finishing must be completed before the glass is toughened. Final measurements therefore need to be confirmed at the ordering stage.
Is toughened glass suitable for doors and low windows?
It is frequently used in critical safety locations, but the final glass specification must suit the opening, panel size and applicable safety requirements. We can discuss the intended use before quoting.
What thicknesses can I order?
Common requirements range from 4mm to 15mm, with the appropriate thickness depending on the size, support, fixings and application.
Do you offer secure delivery?
Yes. DC Glass offers supply and secure delivery across Hampshire, West Sussex, Surrey, Berkshire and Wiltshire. Collection from Horndean is also available by arrangement.
Do you work with homeowners and trade customers?
Yes. We supply domestic customers, tradespeople, property professionals and commercial organisations, from single replacement pieces to larger scheduled orders.
How do I get an accurate quotation?
Send the measurements, intended use, glass or unit type, preferred finish and delivery postcode. Photographs or drawings are helpful. We will confirm any missing technical details before manufacture.
How long will my order take?
Lead times depend on the glass type, processing, quantity and delivery requirements. We provide an estimated timescale once the specification has been reviewed.
